Anatomy & Physiology - Afton Campus     

Anatomy & Physiology is the study of the structural complexity of the human body and its intricate functional mechanisms. The areas studied will be an integration of biology and chemistry and will include, but are not limited to: Organization of the body, Chemical Basis for Life, Cells & Tissues, Integumentary System, Skeletal system, Muscular system, Nervous system, Endocrine system, Blood Circulatory system, Lymphatic & Immune systems, Respiratory systems, Digestive system & applications and active-learning exercises should be included along with laboratory experiences.


Long Term Care Aide - Afton Campus     

This course is for individuals wanting to work in the healthcare field and specifically in long term care and home health care. This course prepares the student for the state certification exam for 7A Long Term Care. The class consists of lecture, lab and clinical hours. The 80 hours covers topics for Long-Term Care Aide and all students are required to enroll in person and must provide proof of specific vaccinations and tuberculosis skin test. Students will be required to show their original social security card and current driver’s license with photo prior to taking their state exam. This class requires 100% attendance. OSBI check required before attending class.


Anatomy & Physiology Online - Kansas Campus     

This course combines learning styles by using the book and an online version of Anatomy & Physiology to study the structural complexity of the human body and its intricate functional mechanisms. Students will receive 120 curriculum hours for 75 instructional hours.


Phlebotomy - Kansas Campus     

This course provides phlebotomy instruction with a working knowledge of collecting blood while emphasizing patient safety, quality assurance, and universal and standard precautions and practices. To test for certification, students must achieve a minimum of 30 successful venipuncture and 10 capillary sticks using volunteers that are personally recruited for class. The National Healthcareer Association certification test is included in the price of the course and will be administered at the end of instruction. A passing grade of 70% on the National Certification Exam is required to be successful. PREREQUISITES: Must be at least 18 years of age and provide proof of a High School Diploma or GED Transcript.


Medical Terminology Online - Kansas Campus     

This 8-week online Medical Terminology course will provide healthcare workers the ability to understand and use medical terminology to effectively communicate with one another. It will cover the 15 modules, abbreviations and comprehensive final that are required for entrance into Northeast Tech’s Practical Nursing program. On-campus orientation is mandatory for all students. After that, the instructor will monitor progress, post comments and be available for questions and help. The student will have some flexibility but there is a firm timeline for all work to be completed. Students must pass this course with an overall score of 80% to be successful.


Nursing Concepts Online - Kansas Campus     

This course is designed to assist the student with identification of personal, vocational, legal and ethical rights and responsibilities of the Practical Nurse. Students will be introduced to nutrition, mental wellness, time management, communication, conflict resolution, and more. This structured online course meets the requirements of Northeast Tech’s Practical Nursing program. The instructor will monitor progress, post comments and be available for questions and help. The student will have some flexibility but there is a definite timeline for all work to be completed. Students must pass with an overall score of 80% to be successful.

In this structured online class the instructor will monitor progress, post comments and be available for questions and help. The student will have some flexibility but there is a definite time line for all work to be completed.

This 80-hour course is for individuals who wish to work in the healthcare field of Long-Term Care. The class consists of lecture, lab and clinical hours, prepares the student for the state certification exam for Long Term Care Aide and requires 100% attendance. Tuition, book, test and clinical exam are included in the price. PREREQUISITES: Students are asked to enroll in person and will be required to obtain an OSBI background check prior to the start of class. Students must also provide a current photo ID and original Social Security card. Please contact the Adult Education office for any additional enrollment information.

Home Health Care Aide (16 Hr Lab) Ltc Certification Required - Pryor Campus     

This 16 hour lab satisfies the OSDH training requirements for a CNA with Long-Term Care certification to take the ‘DEEMING’ test for Home Health Care Aide.

Instruction and testing for Health Care Providers CPR. This course is for healthcare providers and other professional rescuers, and is based on standards set by the American Heart Association


Certified Billing & Coding Specialist - Kansas Campus     

This course thoroughly prepares students to code patients’ medical records correctly and optimize reimbursement for a full range of medical services. Students are introduced to several techniques for finding and applying the correct codes in today’s standard coding systems. Topics covered include: current procedural terminology, international classification of diseases, clinical modification, healthcare procedure coding system, resource-based relative value scale, insurance form preparation, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Workers’ Compensation, No Fault, HMO’s, diagnosis-related groups, peer review organizations, and ambulatory patient groups.

Emphasis is placed on the concepts of learning, teamwork, communication in nursing, human development, professionalism, health promotion, nursing ethics and law, and changing health care delivery systems. [The student receives 40 Curriculum hours for 24 instructional hours.]

Certified Medication Aide - Afton & Pryor     

For CNA's who wish to take the CMA exam. This course covers body systems, medications, and administration and documentation requirements. PREREQUISITE: MUST be at least 18 years of age; submit proof of High School Diploma or a GED transcript; Provide a current photo ID (driver’s license) and an original Social Security card in current name; must be proficient in reading, speaking and writing English; Must have a current CPR card and have at least six (6) month experience as a CNA.


Certified Medication Aide Update - Afton & Pryor     

An 8 hour- 1 day update class designed for current CMA’s to meet annual continuing education requirements.

EMT Basic - Pryor     

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN Basic Training is an entry level class which introduces students to emergency medicine. Students will learn basic patient assessment and life-saving procedures and become proficient in the use of specilized equipment. Upon successful completion of this course you will be eligible to take the National Registry Exam: Test Fee NOT included. PREREQUISITE: Must be at least 18 years of age; provide current Immunization Records; and obtain an OSBI Background Check which reflects eligibility for licensure with the OK State Department of Health/EMS Division.


EMT Advanced - Pryor     

The Emergency Medical Technician Advanced class is a mid-level class which continues to develop student skills in emergency medicine (i.e. patient assessment, life-saving procedures, and use of specialized equipment(. Upon successful completion of this course you will be eligible to take the National Registry Advanced Exam. Test fee NOT included. PREREQUISITE: MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF CURRENT EMT CERTIFICATION and current shot records; and obtain an OSBI Background check which reflects eligibity for licensure with the OK Dept of Health/EMS Division.
